Blood and Plunder – The Final Stretch of the Campaign

By Tom “Chairborne” Mullane

As the summer days begin to grow shorter, and a brisk fall wind starts to pull me back to my job in the classroom, I have also been forced to reckon with the end of the Campaign. Many battle reports have been submitted from around the world, much plunder has been taken, and best of all, a lot of games have been played.  Which in the end is of course the point. You still have until September 10th to submit reports to BandPcampaign@gmail.com if you want to throw your lot in with the rest of us pirates and scalawags.

For those who submitted reports for Spain, (Particularly those who managed to snag objectives) I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, but I was on vacation. But now I’m back and it’s time to give away some free stuff.

I have reached out to the following lucky and pluck gentlemen for their success in snagging some prizes by meeting campaign objectives. Gentlemen, in the eyes of the Spanish Crown, you are heroes. Your greed and dash is to be celebrated. To that end, please enjoy my custom objectives with the complements of Their Royal Highnesses.

The following Objectives have been claimed (none remain untaken)

2. “Farewell and Adieu to you fair Spanish ladies” – Be a Spanish player who submits a battle report with a female mini in it. (these can be the villager models, a special female pirate fig that Firelock gave away OR nearly any other female model popping into the frame. (If a sister of battle makes an appearance in the margins…that’s good enough for me.)

CLAIMED BY JEFF WOODMAN

3. “A Bark worse than its bite” – Be a Spanish player who submits pictures of a sea battle where a Bark is involved in a boarding action. (it doesn’t need to be your bark.)

CLAIMED BY BRENT DEVOS

4. “Brother vs. Brother and Friend vs. Friend” – Be a Spanish player who submits a battle report between two Spanish factions OR between Spain and the Brethern of the Coast. (note: if both players are Spanish, I will send 2 objective markers to both players)

CLAIMED BY DAVID BOEREN (who snagged 4 objectives for a full on Spanish Civil War Game)

They are ready to be dropped in the mail this week, as soon as these gents hit me back with shipping information. So watch your mailboxes.

The Race between the major powers has tightened. With over 200 entries, the battle for the Caribbean and North America has been raging. A more detailed synopsis from the Folks at Blood and Pigment is coming very soon.

But here is where we stand as of 8/21….

It’s anyone’s game. So get your entries in ASAP. Remember to get your entries in before September 10th and if you’re chosing between Spain and someone else…always choose Spain.

I am planning on doing some Demos for folks in the Northern NJ Area this Thursday, August 26th, at Mythicos Studies in Mahwah, NJ. So if you’ve not gotten a chance to see how the game is played yet, and are interested in getting started, come on down. I’ll have some ships to try out, and a desert island in need of some thievery.
