“We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!” – Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
That speech rings no truer than with all the new units you can find in the new Flames of War D:Day British book. For any British player who felt they may have been cheated with the small list and force selection from Fortress Europe, worry no more. There are over 100 pages in this new book and brings the British fully into late war. Whether you’re an infantry or armored player, you’ll find everything you could want from the Normandy campaign and will be able to drive the Germans back to the Fatherland by Christmas.

Williamsburg Muster 2020 was on February 14-16 at the Clarion Hotel in Williamsburg Virginia. This is the second year I attended this excellent small convention. Once again, I gave my wife the gift of silence and I went down with my two boys. This year we also went down with my friend Todd, a fellow WNPG member, and Hobby University teacher.
We made it down to Williamsburg without traffic, checked in our room, bought our badges and then went to dinner. There were a number of games on Friday night, some planned, and some ad hoc. I continued my tradition of allowing the boys to stay up late and we all played the Arena Games gladiator game.
In this special bonus edition of the BattleVault podcast Tom is joined by No Dice No Glory teammates Austin Copeland and Preston Jacob. The boys go all fan-boy and gush incoherently about all the goodness the upcoming D-Day British book and card release for Flames of War. In case you can’t tell….they are very excited about the release.

Many of you know that I am a huge fan of Great War gaming, and this month we have some great new games being released or in the works that gamers should take note of.
I find the history of the Great War fascinating and I have always wondered why it is not more popular and prominent in our hobby. I think some of these new games may change some minds over the next few months.
Ed and Tom hit the air-waves again for the second installment of No Dice No Glory’s BattleVault podcast.

This past Friday I had the pleasure of getting in another game of , this time with a bit of a higher points limit and a non-standard mission to try out. Points were set at 2000 per player and the mission would be Feint. My Germans would take the role of attackers and Mikes US army would be the defenders.

Photo by Igor Torgeson – banner by LVOOn Saturday, 25 January 2020 forty-four dedicated Flames of War players descended on Sin City…I mean Las Vegas, Nevada for the West Coast Flames of War Nationals.
They came quite literally from sea to shining sea.
The usual suspects were all represented. Able Kompanie out of Indiana, Screaming Eagles from Minnesota, 757 Rangers from Virginia, the Pittsburg crew, Texas’ Tough Ombres, several California groups, and a Dark Horse, a new group spanning from West Texas to Arizona called the Desert Mountain Nomads.
I fell in love with the big tournaments the first time I went to one in 2007. You get to make new friends from all over the country and even internationally. You get to see new playstyles and see new army lists you would never have thought of fielding get played masterfully.
List building with the new British Forces Book is incredibly difficult because of all the fine new kit the British gain access to. You will have some hard decisions to make. Before we get into that though, we need to get into the basics of building a good force.
1. Identify the threat. This gets easier the more you know about your opponent or opponents. If it is a pickup game with a friend who only has one army, you will know almost exactly what he plans to throw out on the table and you should be able to tailor your list appropriately.
Its cold war again! The new British army book for Team Yankee V2 will be available very soon. We already had some ideas on the content thanks to what , and .
Now we will look in detail on what we would like to buy to upgrade and expand an existing V1 British army. Not only new troops previously unavailable but also thinking of what the Team Yankee V2 ruleset changed. So, let’s go shopping and think about what we can place in our cart!
