GC Minis: Running out for 4th Meal
By Dennis Jensen
My first painted piece of the new year is the Taco Bell by . This is an MDF and resin 28mm kit. Before gluing on the roof and the window frames I sprayed the building and the frames with a textured spray paint. I experimented to see if the textures spray paint would hide the joins.
Had I sprayed it a little thicker I would have covered the joins, however, I didn’t want a super heavy texture so the joins were still visible. I ended up covering most of the joins with signs I printed off the internet. The shingled roof portions are made of resin. The small roofs had a noticeable gap so I put a piece of foil on the peak and pressed it into the shingles to create a cap and hide the gap. I put dark plastic sheeting for windows and taped some advertisement for some delicious late 1980’s options!
If you are interested you can get your own Taco Bell : http://gcmini.mybigcommerce.com/28mm-taco-restaurant-mdf-28mmdf163/
You can see the gaps weren’t as hidden as I’d have liked but I was able to hide most with signage.
I think I nailed it!
