Summer of Plunder 2: Pyratical Boogaloo
By Tyler
The global campaign is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever!
The Talesmen of No Dice No Glory will be partnering with Firelock Games, Blood & Pigment, and The Plunder Den to present you with another global community campaign for Firelock’s “pirate” games – Blood & Plunder and Oak & Iron. Veterans of last year’s inaugural campaign will recall that the Summer of Plunder follows a loose structure, offering a fun way for Firelock gamers around the world to interact, regale with photos and stories of their battles, and compete for the glory of their chosen faction (and prizes, many prizes).
WHEN DO WE SAIL?
The campaign begins on May 30th, and will end on September 5th. Each week, the participating sites will provide updates, with the current national (and perhaps personal) standings, along with reminders for the upcoming week’s objectives as well as encouragement, threats, or challenges from your national commanders.
WHERE DO I SIGN?
You can participate in this campaign wherever you are! Whether you’re playing in a local game store or your home (even Tabletop Simulator for your O&I folks), you can report games from anywhere in the world.
During the period of the campaign, every time you play a game of Blood & Plunder or Oak & Iron, you can record it through the Campaign Entry Form. You’ll be asked to record a few details and submit at least one photo (or screenshot, for TTS) of your game, and your game will be counted as part of the global struggle.
WHAT’S MY SHARE OF THE PLUNDER?
To help us build camaraderie, the campaign will structured around the in-game Nations. Each time you submit a game, Campaign Points will be applied to the nation you played as. In the end, one nation will rule the seas, and all supporting players will be able to revel in their combined glory.
The Grand Prize will go to a random participant who played at least one game for that nation. There will also be a prize for each player with the most points earned over the whole campaign. Each nation will also reward a prize to its most loyal contributor, so even if your favorite faction doesn’t carry the win, you can still walk away with some goods.
Just like we did last year, we will also be posting a series of fun, weekly challenges. These will award additional prizes. These will be listed below.
CAMPAIGN POINTS, CAP’N?
Each time you enter a game through the Submission Form, you will earn points both for yourself, and for the nation, you played with (you mercenary types can play for several nations, or stay loyal to just one). Points will be awarded as follows:
- 1CP for playing a game, win or lose
- 1CP for completing the weekly objective (see below)
- 1CP for teaching a new player the game
