Warlord Games at CYBER WARS

This past weekend the hosted CYBËR WÅRS 2020 giving attendees a virtual convention experience that will hopefully help alleviate some of the pent up pressure to geek out after months of closed shops and social distancing.

Throughout the CYBËR WÅRS weekend over a dozen panels took place over Zoom with interviews of movers and shakers in the wargaming community. During one such panel representatives from came together for a 2-hour conversation including some sneak peeks at upcoming releases and works-in-progress over at Warlord HQ.

Steve Ingraham-Morgan, Head of Sales and Marketing at Warlord Games, shared insight as to what fans can look forward to. When asked about what goodies Warlord Games is working on Ingraham-Morgan replied: “on Bolt Action specifically, there’s a lot of work being done on D-Day…and that will include new plastics, as these things tend to do.”

Bolt Action players can look for new campaign books for D-Day and the Pacific to be released in the next 6 months. With those campaign books, new plastic kits are being developed for both the European and Pacific Theaters. Over the 1-2 years Warlord Games is looking at revamping their out-dated plastic kits, in particular their British/Canadian/Commonwealth plastic infantry that are due for an upgrade.

When asked about plans for a Third Edition of the rule book, Jon Russell, the Warlord Games North American Event Commander, commented that “as of this moment, I think it’s safe to say, that we have no plans for third edition.” So if you’re planning on jumping into Bolt Action, the Second Edition rule book is the law of the land for the foreseeable future.

As for Blood Red Skies, work is going into expanding the game more into the Pacific Theater of the war. Ingraham-Morgan also revealed that Warlord Games is developing a board game-style game that can encompass their World War Two games under one theme stating, “we will be doing a game, a stand-alone game, that looks and feels quite like a board game but will tie in , , and Victory at Sea/.”

According to non-Warlord guest, Doug Glover, lead voice of the Lead Pursuit Podcast, plans are underway for a small tournament to be held in Indianapolis Indiana this fall on the US’s Labor Day weekend. A .

In the world, Warlord Games is working on a line of kits for the American Civil War. Regarding the ACW projects, Ingraham-Morgan said “…some of which will fall into a familiar pattern of what we normally do, and some of which will be completely left field for us, which we’re quite excited about.”

As to what is considered “left field” for Warlord Games, Ingraham-Morgan chose not expand. With changes brought on by the Corona-virus these timetables may shift so flexibility will continue to be a buzz word moving forward.

For science-fiction fans, both and are continuing to grow. With an abundance of source material found in the comic books, Judge Dredd has plenty of room to expand. New models en route! Despite the delays and challenges presented by the Corona-virus pandemic, good things are coming from Warlord Games.
