404 Flames of War, Team Yankee, and ‘Nam Teams Painted in One Year
By Tom Burgess
Motivation to finish models when you are facing a huge backlog of miniatures can be daunting. It has been for me over the years and I had to come up with a system to keep ahead of all the new stuff I was buying. I do buy a lot of kit from Battlefront each year.
Even before the COVID impact on 2020, I resolved to complete 365 teams from my huge backlog of Flames of War, Team Yankee, and ‘Nam boxes. As a means to motivate myself to chew through that backlog, years ago I started keeping a log and posting it on the WWPD and then the No Dice No Glory forums when I finished models. It always felt good to post pictures of what I had completed and to mark them done on my tracking spreadsheet.

How to Paint a ‘NAM Local Forces Formation
By Howard West
Background a group of us at Legions Games in Pittsburgh, PA have been playing Flames of War for many years and Team Yankee since it was released. Several of us wanted to start playing something different but not that far away for our passion for Flames and Team Yankee.
A smaller group of us had already started assembling NAM armies in the Winter of 2018/2019 and several of the Flames guys thought NAM would be a good 2nd game for them vs TY or Fate of the Nation. So now we are off to the races. As I was completing several of my units for my NAM force several of our folks asked me how did I paint the completed units.

Ev’rybody’s Heard About The Bird
By Matt MacKenzie
The new(ish) ‘Nam 1965-1972 book is out and consider me excited! It is my absolute honor to bring you Marines in Vietnam, I grew up just after the last troops were pulled out of there. I’ve seen all the movies, documentaries and now it’s time to (re)launch Vietnam in 15mm with a revamped rules set based on V4 for Flames of War. It’s my intention to present the options and lists you are able to put together from a time when Marines were taking the fight to the NVA in the jungle and streets of South East Asia.

IPB Part II Attacking
In the last article, we discussed how a player can use the military technique of Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) to enhance his chances of winning in Flames of War as the defender. This article continues that discussion by applying those same principles to the mission of an attacking player.
For those who have not read it, Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield is a task the planning staff of a unit performs immediately upon receiving a mission from their higher headquarters. It defines the size and scope of the battlefield, how the terrain and weather will affect the units ability to perform their assigned mission, and what the enemys most likely and most dangerous courses of action will be.
NAM 3: Fire Mission
By NDNG_Dane
Lieutenant Dan here,
This past weekend, I was able to get in my third Nam game. This game had a completely different feel from our first two games. Again I faced off against Comrade Paul, Fearless leader of the Local Forces. We played the Fire Base Assault mission at 60+ points each.
We both changed up the standard force list a little bit. Comrade Paul took a Special Tasks Battalion with the support options for a PAVN Infantry Battalion. I took the TO&E authorized, New Zealand 105mm Battery, that fought as part of the US 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam.
