Review: PSC 15mm Valentines

Assembly of Mk II finished.

Plastic Soldier Company has released their and 20mm scales. They were kind enough to send NDNG a set of 15mm for review.

Out of the box, the 15mm sprues are impressive, yet daunting. Two hull tops are included – one with side skirts, one without. The instructions list the side-skirt hull as the Valentine III and IX model.

These tanks are a welcome addition, with both Flames of War and BattleGroup focussing on Desert War in North Africa right now. Players of any 15mm WWII game with an eye toward North Africa, or even the Eastern Front with Valentines as Lend-Lease can make good use of this set.

PSC Plastic T-55 Kit review

Plastic Soldier Company was kind enough to send us a 1/72 scale (20mm) T-55 kit for review. I decided to build it as an Iraqi T-55A, which my research indicates was of Czech manufacture originally. I almost wanted to make it a modified Type-69 (Chinese knock-off) but decided on the stock variant, which thankfully PSC has the parts on-sprue to make. This kit can make Soviet/Polish T-55, Soviet/Polish/Czech T-55A, and finally, the T-55AM which has the modernized armour on the turret and the better sensors on the main gun barrel (East German Team Yankee).

Part II will be vehicles

Hey gang, what’s going on? A few folks have DM’ed me on Facebook asking about my DAK force that have been up on a few Battle Reports, and how I painted them. So here is a how-to step by step (literally) on how I built and painted my force, which looks like:

Infantry and guns, Basing:

If you don’t have the pre-holed bases/and have gun teams, score with a sharp blade diagonally on the base, which makes any spackle filler or even just PVA GLue/Sand stick better.

PSC Leo 1: A Review

Plastic Soldier Company (PSC) recently released their much-anticipated . If you follow their , you may have been aware that the initial run of kits was missing the driver’s hatch, but PSC quickly retooled the sprue, and to my understanding has replaced any boxes that were missing this piece. I received my box from PSC over the holidays and I am very pleased with the kit.

The box includes five models, which can be built as the German A1/A3 or Canadian C1 variants. As new Team Yankee player who has picked up the West Germans, PSC’s timing is great. Battlefront has announced a plastic Leopard 1 kit to support the release of the Dutch, Canadians, and Australians later in 2018. I suspect, however, we might not see BF’s plastic Leopard 1 until much later this year. If you cannot wait, PSC’s kit is definitely worth your money.
