Team NDNG was in full force at Adepticon 2024. Mike, Tom, Paolo and Mitch wound up in Schaumberg Illinois to attend what turned out to be an amazing event. We rally back at the studio to talk about the next event in Milwaukee WI in 2025.
Today we have Jack and Samuel Gassmann, the brothers behind Masterstroke Game’s Force of Virtue, a 15th Century themed skirmish game that focuses on the Borgia period in Rome. This game is one that you will want to check out and when you listen to this episode you can hear the love of the period and the intimate knowledge the design team has for this period and which is evident in this game.
Huge treat for you today in this long (but interesting) episode. We have Hermann Luttmann (A Most Fearful Sacrifice and many others) and Ryan Heilman (Brave Little Belgium and many others) and we talk about their new design “Into the Whirlpool” coming out from Blue Panther Games. We talk about so much more, such as game design and the gaming industry.
We too at NDNG are also fans of some of the games we cover and today was a treat for me. I speak with David Freer from Wargame Design Studios, which now hold the John Tiller Games catalog and so much more. We talk about the whole series which spans multiple decades and conflicts.
If you want to know more about these great games you do not want to miss this one.
Yet another great interview with an author from Casemate Publishers! We have Timothy Fitzpatrick whose book, The Long Shadow of Waterloo is one not to miss. The book is about, as Tim told me, How Waterloo changed history and how history changed Waterloo.
Today we have Adrian Mandzy who published a miniatures scenario book that focuses on the Ukrainian partisan movement during WWII. We also talk about the great game By Fire and Sword, the use of wargames in academics and historical archeology.
Today we have Eric Hansen the designer of Blood & Crowns, a new game about the 100-Years War from Firelock Games. We talk about the game and the work involved in the design process.

Join Glenn, Tom and new regular Garrett Swader as they discuss all news Blood and Plunder related. They are joined by guest start Niguel Vega for a supersized episode. The Crew discuss Historicon, Adepticon, and the summer of plunder’s action.
Today we have John Chang the designer of Black Powder Red Earth a 28mm ultra-modern tactical skirmish game. We talk about the game and the design process the developers went through to get the game to market.
